What Jewelry Insurance Actually Covers
A dedicated jewelry policy is not the jewelry line on your
homeowner’s policy. It is built for one thing, and it covers far more.

Why Not Homeowner’s?
Most homeowner’s and renter’s policies cap jewelry at a low
limit, often well below the value of a single engagement ring.
And they may not cover a stone that falls out, or a piece that simply
goes missing.
No Deductible Surprise
Claiming on a homeowner’s policy means paying your household
deductible and risking a higher renewal. A standalone jewelry policy
keeps those claims separate from your home.
Repaired By Us
Because Jewelers Mutual works with your jeweler of choice, a covered
repair or replacement can come back through Diamond Hut, the
people who know the piece.
How It Works
We recommend insuring your piece as soon as you take it home.
STEP ONE
We Appraise It
Diamond Hut provides a written appraisal that establishes the replacement
value of your piece, along with our Jewelers Mutual client code
for the subsidized rate.
STEP TWO
You Enroll Directly
Go to the Jewelers Mutual website, enter our client code, and submit
your appraisal. The application takes just a few minutes.
STEP THREE
You Pay Jewelers Mutual
Your premium is paid directly to Jewelers Mutual, and your policy is
between you and them. Coverage typically begins right away.
Who Does What
Diamond Hut Boutique provides the appraisal and the valuation only.
We are not an insurance agent or broker, we do not sell or underwrite
insurance, and we are not a party to your policy.
Jewelers Mutual is the insurer. Your application, your
premium payment, your policy and any future claim are handled directly
between you and Jewelers Mutual. We never collect or process your payment.
The figure shown by the estimator above is based on our client rate of
$15 per $1,000 of appraised value per year. Your final premium, coverage
terms and eligibility are determined solely by Jewelers Mutual and may
vary based on their underwriting.
Start With An Appraisal
Every policy begins with a current appraisal. Bring your piece in, or book
a time with us, and we’ll take care of the valuation and your client code.
